O Rómulo é nosso sobrinho, filho da Maria Irene e do Adalberto Pinheiro, irmão da Piedade (minha cara-metade). Concluiu o doutoramento (Ph. D) na Universidade de Oslo no passado dia 5 de Março, razão-pretexto para enaltecer aqui o seu brilhante percurso académico e profissional, de que muito se orgulha a família. Conheceu na Noruega a Carina Harsund, de cujo casamento nasceu a nossa sobrinha-neta mais nova, a Olívia Beatriz, que tem dupla nacionalidade.

Curriculum Vitae
Romulo Pinheiro, born in 1972, is a senior researcher at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Regional Innovation Strategies (RIS) based in Kristiansand, Norway. He is also an assistant professor at the Faculty of Education, University of Oslo, where he has been based since 2006, amongst other things, as a research- fellow (Institude for Educational Research) and associate with Hedda, a consortium of European research centers with expertise in the field of higher education studies. He is currently a member of the HEIK (Higher Education: Institutional Dynamics and Knowledge Cultures) research group based in Oslo. Romulo is a higher education specialist interested in matters pertaining to university change and adaptation, system-level governance, in addition to the role of higher education institutions in socio-economic development (innovation included). His Ph. D dissertation (Oslo) focuses on the institutionalization of the regional mission of universities, and their consequent effects on the formalized structures and the behavioral (informal) postures of academics. Romulo has lived, worked, and studied in five different countries and speaks several languages. Prior to embracing research and teaching as professional roles, Romulo worked in the telecom sector (Portugal) and at Nokia (Sweden) and Microsoft (Ireland). He also possesses degrees in the fields of marketing (Portugal), international management (Norway), and business administration (Denmark).
